Marie-Stéphanie Proulx, Linguist
Marie-Stéphanie Proulx is a French Canadian native, and a born-and-raised Quebecer. From a young age, she showed interest in other cultures and languages. She got her first translation job at only 12 years old, when she was given the task to translate a feature film for an International film festival for kids in her hometown of Rimouski. She later decided to work in the food and services industry to have the opportunity to travel and see the world. She then enjoyed spending a few weeks in France to learn and try to master French cuisine.
Having decided to change careers, she was presented with an opportunity to translate a few documents for a company she used to work for. She enjoyed the experience very much, so while studying to get her diploma in English Studies, Marie-Stephanie turned herself to the world of translation and became a freelance translator. Over the next seven years, she had the chance to work with some of the best translation agencies worldwide who have given her the opportunity to collaborate with many of the largest international companies. During that time, she became well-versed in project management and QA processes. Translation has given Marie-Stephanie the challenge she was always looking for. She loves learning new tools to help her stay on top of the constantly evolving market and hopes to continue working in the field for many years to come.
Marie-Stéphanie has been a LCW Global Associate since 2008.
